    Three pages regarding insolent recruiting officers and a court trial harmful to the service (see scans). Excellent content, very fine, some wrinkling. Shipped by USPS First Class package.
    Lt. Col. James P. Preston was second in command of the 12
    th
    Infantry. He was wounded at the battle of Chryslers Farm in 1813. Preston was later Governor of Virginia 1816-1819. This letter was written to his father General John Preston in Richmond, Va.
